Fashion trade show Moda announces speaker line-up

This season’s content programme at Birmingham fashion trade show Moda will focus on using the power of social media to grow brand awareness, the issues facing UK retailers and the benefits of  video marketing, it revealed on Friday.

The event, taking place on 17-19 February at the National Exhibition Centre in Marston Green, will present an array of womenswear from new brands and contemporary designers, as well as footwear and accessories brands.

The programme of talks will be kickstarted by Amy Hobson of SocialB with a demonstration of how to harness Instagram and Pinterest to build massive customer engagement.

Sarah Jackson, whose expertise as a buying and trend consultant has seen her work with a host of brands such as Mint Velvet, Next and Superga, will also focus on social media networks, guiding the public through the key AW19 trends and how to turn social media engagement into sales.

Looking at the sector’s evolution, Darryl Adie, CEO of e-commerce agency Ampersand will offer visitors deep insights into the omnichannel approach in a talk on 18 February.

Meanwhile, Andy Lyons of PwC will review the company’s latest trading report with data on Christmas trade, retail in the Midlands and future business opportunities.

Instagram marketing expert Sam Burgess will talk about building trust with customers, and Jonny Prest, creative director of Seed will explore how videos can transform a company’s marketing effort an widen its reach.

Over 1,200 collections will be presented to over 9,000 fashion buyers at the trade event next month. Moda is organised by ITE Group, whose portfolio also includes Pure London and Scoop.
