Giorgio Armani will show his young line on the Paris catwalks for the first time. "This season, exceptionally, I have decided to present the Emporio Armani collection in Paris. The renovation of the Emporio Armani Paris store and Café in Saint-Germain have given me the opportunity to re-think the show's venue and date," the Milanese designer has explained in a brief statement.

The show is scheduled for 3rd October, and the venue has not yet been revealed. While Giorgio Armani usually shows in Paris with the haute couture line, the label is partly abandoning the Milan shows (where it will still be featured in September with its main line) to take part in the Paris Fashion Week.

It is the opportunity for the Italian luxury group to focus on the Emporio line, and especially on its great flagship store at 149, Boulevard Saint-Germain, which closed last January for a complete make-over.

For the store's re-opening in early October, the label will unveil an entirely new store concept.

The renovated 1,200 m2 store is strategic for Armani in the French capital. It was originally opened in January 1998, after the label paid very dearly (100 million French francs) for the premises of the Saint-Germain drugstore, which was previously located there.

In March the same year, the designer had planned to hold the Giorgio Armani autumn/winter collection show not far from there, under a marquee in front of the Saint-Sulpice church. The show was however cancelled for security reasons.
