Next week, luxury label Dunhill will be making the most of its heritage in high-end lighters with the debut of its Rollagas clothing and accessories collection.

It’s yet another example of luxe brands looking to names and styles that strike a chord in their long and storied history to create newness with a sense of permanence.

Inspired by the brand’s lighter of the same name, it expands on previous smaller-scale Rollagas-labelled clothing pieces to build a full offer for the very first time.

It was originally previewed as part of the unveiling of the AW22 collection and includes a range of ready-to-wear pieces, leather goods and other accessories that incorporate the geometric pattern found on an archive lighter style from the 1970s – “reimagining it through quilting, leather craft and engraving techniques”.

Part of the collection debuts in-store on 12 July with the embossed leather pieces to be available first, followed by the quilted calfskin Lock Clip backpack and messenger in August.

There are also outerwear pieces including a car coat, blouson and gilet in technical Rollagas padded fabric.

In addition to this there are more bags and small leather goods, plus a silver tie bar, cufflinks and other pieces.

The items will retail between £185 and £2,595. And we’re told that the label will continue to evolve the line with new pieces added seasonally.
