Diesel creates a European office under Joanna Onland

Diesel is continuing with its restructuring. The Italian denim manufacturer has already eliminated several posts, such as those of country manager. Hubert Blanc, who stepped down from his position as Diesel France General Manager at the end of 2013, was replaced in 2014 by Joanna Onland, then in charge of Benelux. She went on to lead the Old Continent's southern area.

Now it's German executive's Thorsten Link's turn to leave the brand he joined in 2006. In addition to being Germany Country Manager, he had also been head of Central Europe.

In line with this stratgey, Diesel announced the creation of the Diesel Europe office, in its Breganze headquarters in Italy's Veneto region, with Joanna Onland as general manager. Her mission is to expand Diesel's European business.

In a press release, Diesel justified this centralisation with the need of a direct and more consistent management of its various European distribution networks, through multi-brand stores, department stores and key accounts.

Joanna Onland joined Diesel five years ago, having formerly worked at La Prairie Group and Coty. The Dutch executive initially served as General Manager for Benelux.
