Former American Apparel Chief Executive Officer Paula Schneider has secured a new CEO position shortly after announcing her departure from the California-based company. Delta Galil announced on Tuesday that Schneider will join the company as Chief Executive Officer of DG Premium Brands.

Schneider stepped down as American Apparel CEO on October 3 after serving in the position for less than 2 years. She joined American Apparel shortly before the company filed for bankruptcy. Under her leadership, the company unveiled a new, less risqué image and focused product offering.

As CEO of DG Premium Brands, the 30-year industry veteran will be responsible for brands 7 For All Mankind, Splendid and Ella Moss, the brands that Delta Galil acquired from VF Corporation. Prior to joining Delta and American Apparel, Schneider built profitable businesses for BCBG Max Azria, Laundry by Shelly Segal and Warnaco Swimwear Group.

Delta Galil reported sales and net income declines in the second quarter due to a turbulent US retail environment. Despite the turbulent sales, the CEO Isaac Dabah believes the company is poised for long-term growth.
