Value shoe retailer Deichmann is set to open the doors of its Livingston shop later this month after a £280,000 refurbishment.

Designed with the German retailer’s ‘fast track’ shopping concept, the 307-square-metre unit located in The Centre will reflect the brand identity of Deichmann’s 3,700 strong global portfolio.

The footwear chain said all shoes and sizes will be instantly available on the shop floor, which means customers can easily locate and help themselves to the range.

This concept has been also rolled out to other Deichmann stores in the UK, including sites in Canterbury and Blackpool. And as part of its efforts to build brand awareness, the brand has also recently announced a collaboration with British singer/songwriter Rita Ora.

With prices starting at £5.99, Deichmann is competing in the UK with the likes of Shoe Zone and Primark. The company sells own branded women’s shoes, men’s shoes and accessories, as well as styles from brands like Adidas and Nike.

Commenting on the Livingston refurbishment, Lynne Baird, store manager of Deichmann Livingston, said: “We’re really excited to be re-opening our doors in Livingston, and have missed our loyal shoppers while we’ve been closed.

“We can’t wait to show off the transformation our store has had and welcome in the shoppers of The Centre.”

Deichmann has about 100 stores in the UK, including flagship stores in Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City. In 2018, the business made global sales of €5.8 billion, up 2% on 2017.
