The change follows the company's announcement that it had emerged from bankruptcy in January of this year, after initially filing for Chapter 11 protection in November of 2018.

Christine Pope, senior vice president at Oaktree Capital Management, will serve as board chair, with experience working on investments in the retail industry and beyond.

Jeff Kuster joins the board while serving as group president of Ralph Lauren, where he oversees all commercial and operating activities, including retail, digital commerce, wholesale and factory stores for North America.

Board member Ilana Stern is the founder and former CEO of Weddington Way, a digital-first fashion brand targeted at millennials shopping for special occasions. According to a press release, Stern was dubbed an 'accelerator' by WSJ and named one of SF Business Times' 40 under 40.

Additional board members include Christine Barton, who currently serves as senior partner and managing director at Boston Consulting Group and offers expertise in customer insights and millennial audiences; Venita Fields, a partner at Pelham S2K Managers LCC with over 35 years of financial and investment management experience; and Katherine Rice, operating partner at Altamont Capital Partners with a career focus on e-commerce, retail, consumer goods, home furnishings and apparel.

David’s Bridal currently operates over 300 stores across the US, Canada and the UK, as well as franchise locations in Mexico.
