The Converse Pride collection includes new takes on the brand’s All Star and All Star ’70 shoes. The new styles feature rainbow patterns in the shoe’s patches, body or logos, with some even being adorned with a rainbow sole. One style includes 70’s inspired designs as a nod to the first Pride Parade that took place in New York City in 1970. Converse has also offered customizable shoes, which customers can adorn with rainbow laces and customized colors. The Pride collection also includes a small collection of t-shirts and posters.

June was declared LGBTQ Pride Month to honor the Stonewall riots of June 1969. Many brands have launched special collections and campaigns for Pride, including Nike, Urban Outfitters and American Eagle. Paul Smith also covered the iconic pink wall on its West Hollywood store with a rainbow mural as part of a collaboration with Instagram to celebrate the LGBTQ community with rainbow murals in various cities.

Beyond LGBTQ issues, many fashion labels have taken strides to include social consciousness in their designs. Maria Grazia Chiuri notably sent models down her first runway show for Dior wearing “We Should All Be Feminists” t-shirts. Many brands have also prioritized ecological sustainability in their production methods, with Miami Fashion Week making sustainability and responsibility a core part of its 2017 edition.

Converse’s Pride Collection is available on its online shop. Net proceeds of direct sales of the collection will go to It Gets Better and the Happy Hippy Foundation, which benefit LGBTQ youth.
