After unveiling its "Sun 2016" collection for the summer season, luxury brand Chloé has lifted the lid on the inspirations and key pieces in store for its autumn wardrobe, with a series of looks inspired by dance and contrasts.

Rather than drawing directly on dance, it's the sporty, athletic side of the art and its physical practice that have inspired Cholé's fall collection, which features a series of loose, flowing looks. Although evidently autumnal, the collection's silhouettes evolve to follow the different stages of a dancer's regime, from studio warm-ups to onstage performances.

"My fall collection is influenced by the athletic nature of dance, and a sense of fluidity and movement," explains Clare Waight Keller, the brand's Creative Director.

Playing with contrasts

This autumn 2016 collection plays with contrasts in an effortless and feminine trans-seasonal wardrobe that mixes colors, fabrics and lengths.

Rustic, earthy tones of terracotta, ochre, burgundy and chocolate brown are, for example, matched with lighter shades of grey and blue, in various combinations. Fabrics are also juxtaposed, with kilim carpet jacquards, velvet, and mosaic floral silks sitting alongside washed denim.

In keeping with the brand's signature spirit, fall 2016 silhouettes remain soft, feminine and effortless, with long, slender lines. The collection includes pieces such as gathered and drawstring tops, pleated and ruched dresses, and bouclé-knit coats.

The collection's opulent vibe and playful contrasts are mirrored in its accompanying accessories, including two-tone fold-down boots, wedges with shearling detail, and the iconic "Drew" and "Faye" handbags decorated with geometric patchworks of suede and python.
