The new branch will offer the largest space for fashion categories of all Cath Kidston stores in Japan. It will also include the brand’s first footwear space, and feature a childrenswear section.

Kenny Wilson, Chief Executive of Cath Kidston, said: “Japan is our biggest international market outside the UK and is an important part of our strategy to globalise the brand. We are taking everything we know our customers already love about Cath Kidston and building that into a brand new store in Tokyo that will brighten up our customers’ day and showcase our brand.”

Cath Kidston’s new store becomes its 28th location in Japan, including the 27 other locations the group bought from its franchise partner earlier this year. The company also boasts of boutiques in 16 countries such as China, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Spain and the UK.

In the year ended 30 March 2014 Cath Kidston’s sales increased 10% to £116 million with EBITDA rising 19% to £25 million. International retail sales increased 37% to £46 million in the same year.
