Meanwhile, Walter Bolognino, currently EMEA managing director at Bulgari, will succeed Abramo as Cartier’s North America chief.

Abramo will start in her new role March 1 and will oversee Cartier’s global commercial performance, network development and pricing strategies, in addition to sitting on the Cartier International executive committee.

The role will be based in Geneva, with Abramo reporting to  Renaud Litré, Cartier International group chief platforms officer and senior vice president chief commercial officer.

Abramo was appointed president and CEO of Cartier North America in June 2014. Before joining Cartier in 2008 as director of Cartier’s Fifth Avenue store, the luxury veteran had a stint at the Fifth Avenue flagship of Tiffany & Co.

The reshuffle comes after parent company Richemont announced two key executive appointments on February 10 with Bérangère Ruchat stepping up to the Senior Executive Committee in her capacity as sustainability chief, and Bram Schot joining the board.
