Since its orgins in America’s grand industrial city of Detroit 120 years ago, the Carhartt brand has been one of the largest outfitters for tradespeople in the US. In Europe, the brand has made its way into urban athletic and streetwear during the mid-1990s when selective products of the brand were authorized outside of the American continent for the first time under distribution by Work in Progress.

It was under this label that the brand developed a network of stores in Europe as well as in Asia and Australia, for a total of 47 stores, the latest of which opened in Verona, Italy, on September 24. These offer Carhartt garments and collaborations such as the one with Burton on a specialized mountain jacket, or the latest, for the second year in a row with the French brand APC, which will be on the shelves on December 15.

New Yorkers will be able to grab these garments beginning October 26. Carhartt has once again made its journey across the atlantic to set up its first WIP store in the Big Apple. The brand’s new address will be 119 Crosby Street in Manhattan, at Prince Street.

On the heels of this opening come five more for the brand in Europe: new locations in Copenhagen, Berlin and London and offices in Bilbao and Zaragoza.
