The Council of Fashion Designers of America has unveiled the official lineup of designers and brands set to show at the upcoming New York Fashion Week, scheduled from September 13 through 16.

The schedule's release follows New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's announcement that NYFW would go on with a number of health and safety rules in place to help prevent the spread of Covid-19, including a mask mandate, a limit of only 50 attendees per open-air runway show and indoor shows that are closed to spectators, among other measures.

The week will begin on September 13 with Jason Wu and a virtual fashion experience from Harlem’s Fashion Row, and will end on September 16 with Tom Ford, chairman of the CFDA. Other participants include Alabama Chanin, Alice + Olivia, Anna Sui, Badgley Mischka, Bibhu Mohapatra, Carolina Herrera, Chromat, Claudia Li, Dennis Basso, Eckhaus Latta, Jonathan Simkhai, LaQuan Smith, Marchesa and Marchesa Notte, Naeem Khan, Nicole Miller, Veronica Beard, and Zero + Maria Cornejo.

Newcomers on the schedule include Aknvas, Anne Klein, Colleen Allen, Dur Doux, Duncan, Frederick Anderson, Frère, Imitation of Christ, Oak & Acorn, Theophilio, Venicew, Wiederhoeft, and Wolk Morais.

New York Men’s Day will be included in the schedule and will feature 10 menswear designers, including David Hart and Timo Weiland, the CFDA said.

As previously reported by FashionNetwork.com, many of the week's participants will show using Runway360, the digital platform created by the CFDA that allows brands to control their show time, show format, and allows brands to digitally connect with members of the press, consumers, and retailers that are unable to physically attend.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has upended the global fashion industry and hit New York particularly hard,” said Steven Kolb, chief executive officer of the CFDA.

“Fashion week is a critical time when brands are able to connect with press, retailers and consumers, and I’m proud of how quickly the CFDA pivoted to support the needs of the industry by creating Runway360.

"We are excited to see 15 new American brands on the schedule - many for the first time – who might not have had the opportunity to share their collections to a global audience without access to Runway360. We’re also excited to highlight the incredible talent coming out of Harlem’s Fashion Row, and announce the return of New York Men’s Day. In the face of unprecedented challenges and uncertainty within our industry, the American fashion community has once again come together to support each other and prove its resilience," concluded Kolb.
