Bread & Butter: no Kids Camp next January

Bread & Butter has just announced the stop to the Kids Camp in January 2011. This children’s fashion trade show was held for the first time alongside Bread & Butter last July. But it is only postponed.

While admitting mistakes were made, Karl-Heinz Mueller said he still believes in this kidswear project: "I cannot ignore the clash in our dates with those of Pitti Bimbo, which is now the largest kidswear event in Europe. We can also review the terms of the event.” The boss stressed: "the kidswear industry needs a trade show for Central Europe."

He has therefore planned a convention in Berlin in late November / early December with kidswear professionals (brands, retailers, the quality press etc..). The dates of this brainstorming session, during which the new project will be presented, are expected soon. Karl-Heinz Müller is banking on an updated trade show event to combine with Bread & Butter next July, which will celebrate its tenth birthday.

The first edition of Kids Camp brought together 45 brands such as Diesel, Desigual, Kaporal Junior, Pepe Jeans Junior, all in a circus tent on the tarmac at Tempelhof Airport. But in January, only about forty brands had confirmed their participation. Bread & Butter dates were also announced at the end of its previous show last July and a separate Kids Camp for January 2012.
