Bottega Veneta has dived into its archives and is featuring an exhibition for one of its iconic handbags: the 'Knot' clutch bag. After Milan, this itinerant retrospective bringing together more than 100 versions of the famous bag will be presented in Paris from 10th to 12th March, at the brand's store at 12 avenue Montaigne.

The exhibition will bring to light models from the 1980s and 1990s which the fashion label, never having built up an archive, has had to rummage for around the world, scouting vintage stores and private collections.

Also on show there will be models designed by Tomas Maier. Ever since joining the Kering-owned Italian fashion label in 2001 as creative director, the designer "immediately identified the unique potential of this curvy little pochette, creating a new clasp looking like a small leather knot which gave the clutch bag its name," explained Bottega Veneta in a press release.

Among his latest creations, there is the 'Knot Origami' in pleated varnished leather, the 'Knot Jardin' decorated with leather flowers, the 'Knot Vintage Jewel' with an antique crystal embroidery, the 'Knot Memory' in plaited Nappa leather and the 'Knot Metallic Lace', built of two metallic lace frames.
