Boden is continuing its dive into physical stores with its first-ever location inside a shopping mall. And perhaps it’s no surprise that it’s taking space in the new Westfield London expansion.

The extension to the existing Shepherd’s Bush mall is one of the biggest UK retail projects at present and will add further appeal to what’s already one of the Greater London area’s biggest shopping attractions.

Boden has taken a 3,768 sq ft ground floor unit and has signed up for a 10-year lease at the mall.

Boden began as a mail-order catalogue firm and has successfully transition into an e-tail specialist in recent years. But its move into the physical sphere has also seen it entering John Lewis stores in the UK and opening its first standalone of the Kings Road last year. Further openings are planned this year and next.

The company handling the firm’s expansion into physical spaces is Montagu Evans and partner Dan Peake said that the decision to move into Westfield, as well as other locations, “draw together a very strong understanding of the customer base that makes its online business so successful.”

And he added that the firm is using the chance to capitalise on the current property market conditions by securing flexible lease terms. Retail landlords are keen to sign up strong businesses to their properties at present and anecdotal evidence suggests that some extremely attractive terms are being offered across the sector.
