Nick Bailey has joined END, the UK luxury streetwear/sportswear retailer, as its new Chief Operating Officer. He becomes the first major signing by END's new CEO Parker Gundersen who is building a “strategic leadership capability to support aspirational growth plans” following last year’s majority investment by Carlyle Group.

Bailey joined earlier this month from European lingerie retailer Hunkemöller International where he was global merchandising, planning and distribution director for six years. He has also held senior roles at George’s Asda, M&S and Gap

Gundersen, who was formerly president of retail ops at LVMH’s travel retail subsidiary DFS Group said: “Since the investment in END by Carlyle last year, the company has continued to progress its strategic growth plans. We’re delighted that Nick has joined the END executive team, with his extensive experience in building growing retail business, he will enable us to continue to build on the great foundations already in place.”

He added: "Nick will lead the development of our supply chain strategy and our exceptional customer experience, building on our substantially increased capabilities in digital and marketing. We’re also building our portfolio of statement stores in the UK and internationally, bringing new and exciting propositions to our loyal and future customers.”

END co-founders Christiaan Ashworth and John Parker have moved on from direct control of the business as the retailer works on the “next phase” of its evolution.
