In this role, Resta succeeds long-time CEO François-Henry Bennahmias, who announced last year his intention to leave the company after nearly 30 years at Audemars Piguet. She will join the company in August and will officially take on the role of CEO on January 1. Until the end of 2023, Bennahmias will help manage the leadership transition.

Resta has over 26 years of international experience, having led several major divisions within top-tier companies. Most recently, she was president of swiss fragrance and flavors supplier Firmenich

Prior to joining Firmenich, Resta worked for Procter & Gamble for over two decades in various executive positions at its European and American headquarters, managing several iconic global brands, ranging from laundry to hair care.

"We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Resta as our new chief executive officer. Her proven record of delivering results through a clear strategic thinking based on deep consumer insights will keep AP’s legacy relevant for generations to come and ensure long lasting growth,” said Alessandro Bogliolo, chairman of Audemars Piguet.

“Ilaria’s belief in the empowerment of teams and her accomplishments as an inspirational leader in corporate sustainability fully align with Audemars Piguet’s long-standing values as an independent family-owned company,” he added.

Bogliolo equally thanked Bennahmias for his long tenure: “On behalf of the board of directors, we warmly thank François for his three decades of service. His transformational leadership has been essential in building the success story AP is today. We are grateful for his indelible contribution and his commitment to stay until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.”
