The UK continues to be at the forefront of multi-channel retailing, with new initiatives launching all the time. Pass My Parcel is one of them, a British same-day click and collect service that is owned by the Connect Group. The company is already working with Amazon, and has now also signed up fashion e-tail giant Asos to its service.

Pass My Parcel lets shoppers order items online and pick them up at a local Pass My Parcel store the same day. For orders made by 11.45am, customers can pick them up from 8pm onward, and the service is available seven days a week.

Asos will initially trial the service in 20 retail outlets, and then it'll be rolled out across the remaining 3,000 outlets over the coming months. Connect Group said Pass My Parcel made an "excellent operational performance over the peak Christmas period, remaining on track with its current expansion plans."

The next step to grow the Pass My Parcel service is the launch of a mobile-enabled returns collection service, with a QR (Quick Response) code sent to customers' mobile phones.
