Dismissed only a few months ago by Lanvin, the designer could be signing a collaboration with the Japanese firm, according to WWD. A new partnership, following in the footsteps of Christophe Lemaire, Jil Sander and Inès de la Fressange.

While the owner of Uniqlo, Fast Retailing, and Elbaz himself, have failed to comment on the claims, the news doesn't come as a surprise, considering Uniqlo's collaborative history.

Several possibilities could be in the works, from a one-time collaboration as seen with Jil Sander, Inès de la Fressange and Carine Roitfeld to one like the "extended collaboration" with Christophe Lemaire.

The Lemaire partnership was consolidated in June at Uniqlo, where the firm named Lemaire as the artistic director of a new research and development centre and a new line: Uniqlo YU Line.
