Two L.A. designers and an artist form a new digital makeup collective: Pinkie Swear

Just launched L.A. based Pinkie Swear is a whole new kind of cosmetics company: the e-commerce beauty brand calls itself a “collective” and “creative platform.” The forces behind it are fashion design team Brian Wolk and Claude Morais, of the Wolk Marais line. They teamed up with L.A. based artist  Mandy Mitchell and a group of art students, basing the products on inspirations from art school,  a love of Pop Art and youth culture. They plan to use the brand as a platform to celebrate creators and artists working in the digital beauty realm. The products are now available on their e-commerce site.

“Mentoring young women to have careers in the arts has always been one of our most important missions,” said Wolk and Morais.  “We couldn't resist the opportunity to create a cosmetic brand whose centerpiece was a digital platform to share creativity and was inspired by the culture of art school.”

The first product to be unveiled is now available for pre-order: “Clip Paint” is a moisturizing lip pigment with high-impact color. It’s housed in a marker-like applicator with a precision brush and a custom clip-on cap, creating a wearable beauty product. Added Wolk and Morais, “When creating Clip Paint, we combined our two loves, fashion & beauty. Clip Paint was designed to be clipped on, collected, and worn as an accessory.” Clip Paint ($18) comes in six shades: JPEG, a coral; About Last Night, bright pink; Fire Escape, a classic red; Loft Party, a dark purple; Plan B, an ultraviolet that’s half pink, half purple, and Send Nudes, a subtle earth tone.
