Tranoï adding the Cité de la Mode to its sites in 2016

Tranoï is getting ready to add a new site to its programme in 2016. The landmark Parisian trade fair will count the Cité de la Mode et du Design as one of its sites for Tranoï Homme and Tranoï Preview as of January. It will of course still be present at the Palais Brongniart.

The Cité de la Mode et du Design

In March, during women's fashion week, Tranoï will be present at at least three sites: the Bourse, the Carrousel du Louvre, as usual, but also the Cité de la Mode.

One of the reasons for this new location is the start of upgrade works at the Carrousel du Louvre in mid-2016. An additional site was needed for the event that draws several hundred exhibitors.

Several years ago, Armand Hadida, Tranoï's artistic director and co-manager of the L’Eclaireur stores with his wife Martine, applied to manage the event spaces of this site.

The site will need some animating though, given its non-central and not very enticing location. Tranoï is counting on a partnership with the bateaux-bus (the boat-bus ferry service that links several sites along the Seine) to galvanise the connections between the Cité and the centre of the capital. It is also planning on decking out the Cité de la Mode's events hall in Tranoï fashion. Suffice it to say that the Tranoï teams have already started to ponder the question.

Collateral damage, the Capsule trade fair, the current occupant during men's fashion week, will have to find another site for the event. When asked about the matter, one of the representatives of the organisation of the trade fair that just ended on 28 June, did not have any information to divulge.

We know that Capsule femme, which takes place during the Paris womenswear fashion week, takes place at the Tapis Rouge, on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin. But, the site might not be big enough to host the menswear exhibitors of the American trade fair.
