Stylist turned designer Rachel Zoe's lifestyle newsletter The Zoe Report has announced layoffs and a restructuring plan that will utilize contract editors to develop content instead of full-time employees.

The Zoe Report's editorial director, Nicky Deam, and the social media team will keep their jobs through the reorganization. The layoffs will affect the sales and video departments, although specific numbers of employees being let go have not yet been disclosed.

Rodger Berman, CEO of Zoe Media Group and Zoe's husband, said the layoffs are part of a new content strategy. Berman explained, "We are doubling down on quality, investing in social and going to engage those women who look to us for authority and style advice."

The Zoe Report was founded in 2009 by Rachel Zoe and began as a daily newsletter with fashion and styling tips, later becoming a destination website. Zoe formed Zoe Media Group in 2011, the same year she launched her own clothing label.

In 2013 Zoe relaunched The Zoe Report with expanded fashion, beauty and lifestyle content. The Zoe Report offers a subscription box featuring pieces the stylist has dubbed seasonal wardrobe staples.

Berman was quick to emphasise that the layoffs are not a sign of financial trouble for The Zoe Report, stating "We are very much still in business and we are currently still engaged in fundraising."
