Playtime recorded a slight gain in visitor numbers during its latest edition, which took place at Paris' Parc Floral from January 28 to 30. According to organisers, the kidswear tradeshow welcomed 7,689 visitors through its doors, up 3.1% on last year's January edition.

Organisers said 55.3% of attendees were international, with most coming from nearby Europe (Belgium, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Spain and Italy, at the top). Meanwhile, the top three nations represented outside of Europe were the United States, Japan and South Korea.

Furthermore, Saturday's attendance was the highest in number over the three days, with 39.6% of registered guests choosing this day to visit the tradeshow.

The 21st edition of the Picaflor-managed tradeshow presented the autumn/winter 2017 collections of 520 brands, with 80% of labels being foreign and close to one hundred newcomer offerings. According to organisers, the positioning of exhibitors is increasingly transversal.

"While fashion remains the most important part of the show, the decorative part is still growing. A movement that tends to perpetuate with more and more brands straddling the two universes," noted organisers.

The next Paris edition of Playtime, which recently revised its corporate brand and aesthetic several weeks ago, will take place July 1 to 3, just before its debut in Berlin, July 5 and 6.
