Morplan launches mannequins in wider colour range

Major UK mannequin supplier Morplan is responding to the ultra-colour trend and said this week that the “hot trend for colour pops” has led to it offering new models “in literally any colour.”

Every one of its mannequins can now be ordered with “a bespoke look” with buyers able to choose any RAL colour and either a matte or gloss finish. The company can also create a gloss black body and gold head.

The company said that even though the colour options are in their early days, the extra choice is leading to a wide range of colours and finishes being requested.

It is also offering mannequin resprays for those stores that haven’t budgeted for major mannequin replacements, a service it said is particularly suited to smaller boutique owners that have previously been restricted by the cost of replacing mannequins on a regular basis.

And the firm said opting for a respray to refurbish mannequins that are looking the worse for wear is also a more environmentally friendly option than straightforward replacement.

Prices start from £320 for a bespoke coloured brand new mannequin model, or £95 to repair and respray an existing adult one.

Mannequins are more than just the workhorse items of any in-store environment and can make or break any window or shop floor display. And such is the interest in them that a Soho, London exhibition by Netherlands-based Hans Boodt Mannequins has been kept open for longer. The pop-up on Archer Street had been scheduled to close on October 10 but is now open indefinitely.
