Lush bets on new store formats

Last April, on the occasion of its 20th anniversary, Lush opened an 880m² flagship store on London's Oxford Street. Its retail area is 13 times larger than that of Lush's traditional stores, and allowed the brand to add 200 new inventory items. It's an oversize vision which Lush wishes to try out on all of its retail outlets.

Traditional Lush shops are currently sized between 30 and 40m2. The objective now is to reach a minimum area of 80m2, going up to 200m2.

Larger retail outlets would allow Lush to display its full product range, which is increasing daily, and to welcome customers in a pleasant environment, notably during the periods of heavier traffic such as Christmas.

Recent and future openings all confirm this aspiration, such as the stores in Rotterdam (120m²), Barcelona and Stockholm next November (140m²) and finally Toulouse in 2016 (110m²).

Also, a second flagship store extending over between 500 and 1000m² should soon open in Tokyo.

Lush operates 42 stores in France and 919 retail outlets in 50 countries.
