Kim Jones has brought in one of the biggest names in streetwear for a collaboration on Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2017 show. The collection, unveiled on Thursday in Paris, saw Supreme logos take over Louis Vuitton's newest array of leather goods, clothes, shoes, and accessories.

Speculation on the collection had been widespread, but no one could have predicted its scope. The new collection-wide collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Supreme NY includes co-branding across the range of pieces, on leather goods; including a custom LV trunk designed to fit a skateboard, cross-body bags, backpacks, fanny-packs, and classic LV weekend bags. Also included in the collection, denim jackets, baseball jerseys, and t-shirts that feature LV monogramming with the Supreme logo included in the monogram.

LV's Artistic Director of Menswear Kim Jones, who was appointed creative director in 2008, is known to be a keen Supreme fan. He was spotted at the opening of the streetwear giant's Paris flagship last year. The news kept the rumour mill spinning for quite some time -  in November, he also Instagrammed a photo of a Supreme sticker on a classic Louis Vuitton leather monogramming. The post was quickly deleted, adding even more buzz to the speculation. In addition, a model at a Louis Vuitton runway show last season snapped a white knit Louis Vuitton sweater emblazoned with Supreme logos.

The collaboration may appear an unexpected turn of events given the history between the labels. In 2000, Supreme released an unofficial Louis Vuitton collection, consisting of LV-monogrammed skate decks and hats. The French fashion house went on to sue Supreme, claiming an unauthorized use of Louis Vuitton branding, according to Complex.

Due to the firepower both brands have behind them, the dually-branded pieces are sure to be a huge commercial success for both brands.
