“Given all this, our decision to approach the NBA about collaborating was a no brainer—it required no great insight," the brand said, in an official statement.

“We very simply knew there was a need because we wanted this product ourselves. And the NBA agreed: whether a given fan is someone who typically buys luxury apparel or not, he or she ought to be able to wear something both elegant and of a quality that reflects their deep passion for the game.”

Prices for the line will start at $590 for a cashmere t-shirt and cap out at over $1,500 for crew-neck sweaters. There will be a shirt and sweater for all 30 teams in the NBA.

This is the first collaboration the NBA has done with a luxury clothing brand. The Elder Statesman also announced that they have already confirmed a second collaboration with the NBA, to be released via the brand’s own retail channels. Throughout the course of the 2016-2017 NBA season, additional products will drop via both Barney’s channels and The Elder Statesman’s channels.

The Elder Statesman is a Los Angeles- based luxury clothing company. The brand focuses on high-quality cashmere products. Currently, the brand sells women’s, men’s, unisex, kids, and home products.
