The leather goods trade show Lineapelle New York 2017, held at the Metropolitan Pavilion on 18th-19th July, has confirmed the interest of US buyers in Italian materials, despite the unpredictable market situation, with the retail channel especially on edge. The number of exhibitors rose by 20% compared to the previous edition, up to 120, with some 1,300 buyers attending.

The design presentations organised by the Lineapelle Fashion Committee were all sold out, and there was great interest for the show's 'Maps' trend report. The focus was on the trends for the 2018-19 winter season, which will be characterised by an unconventional colour palette and the use of basic yet high-quality materials.

The next edition, the 93rd, of the show which brings together international manufacturers of leather, fabrics and synthetic materials, will be held in Milan on 4th-6th October, while the next New York edition is scheduled for 31st January-1st February 2018, again at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

Also the previous edition of Lineapelle, held at London's Ham Yard Hotel on 11th-12th July 2017, was remarkable for the growth in exhibitor numbers (+20%), with some 700 visitors attending.
