The Exhibition Hall of the inaugural Indie Beauty Expo (iBE) on August 27, 2015 at the Altman Building has sold out, thanks to an enthusiastic response from the more than 60 exhibitors who have signed up to date. A secondary exhibition space that was recently added has also sold out. A wait list is now in place for any additional brands who wish to sign up.

When I started my skincare business, I was frustrated by the lack of true beauty incubators," said iBE co-founder Jillian Wright of Jillian Wright Clinical Skin Spa in Manhattan. "The category has consolidated into an environment where niche brands are not given the chance to flourish and take center stage."

The iBE provides a platform for independent beauty brands to showcase their stories to buyers, press and consumers. Wright will host a press breakfast where exhibitors can partake in a meet-and-greet with the media, which includes beauty editors, writers and bloggers. After the business-to-business portion of the expo, a consumer event will kick off at 5pm with discounted shopping, panels, cocktails and goodie bags.

iBE co-founder Nader Naeymi-Rad, the CEO of Vesture, a luxury fashion company, said, "Indie brands are one of the top growth drivers in the overall beauty market. A professionally curated and scalable indie-focused expo has been long overdue and this has been validated by the overwhelmingly positive response we have received." He added, "With over 60 indie brands exhibiting, iBE has become the 'can't miss' event for buyers in specialty retail and the spa markets."

The iBE is proud to support 5 Gyres, an organization working to pursue policies that will reduce the plastic pollution in the ocean.
