Desigual expands online store to US

The Spanish apparel brand has launched its online store in the United States by which it foresees to boost sales by an additional 10 percent.

The Barcelona based company operated in 2010 over 1,000 points of sale in the US (7 directly operated stores, 950 multi-brand stores, and 45 corners in department stores).

For this launch the company is counting heavily on social media advertising via Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. By consequence of advertising it expects around 15 millions unique visitors on two of the most important sales events in the United States including upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday, on Nov 25 and 28 respectively.

The online shop has all ready been available since 2010 in Spain, Germany, France, UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria and Belgium, through which its collections for men, women, kids and accessories as well as its capsule collection signed by Christian Lacroix can be purchased. Furthermore, this december consumers can expect the arrival of Desigual's Cirque du Soleil inspired collection, and its new line of shoes next Spring.

Today, Desigual.com registers more than 800,000 visits per month, and counts with 400,000 Facebook fans.

Desigual positions itself as a global brand with strong international plans of expansion and growth via "innovation", according to the company. In 2012, the company intends to intensify its expansion in Europe, Asia as further into America.
