“Clothing has maintained its leadership among products sold online around the world,” a new report from German intelligence firm Ystats.com informed.

According to the report, fashion products were purchased by over one-half of online shoppers worldwide in 2015.

The product category also stood at number one position in terms of online shoppers’ share in countries like China, the US, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, UK, Russia and many other countries.

The report said that mobile commerce is an important contributor to the rise of fashion online retail, as 10 per cent of worldwide online shoppers’ preferred either phones or tablets for buying apparel and footwear.

Additionally, the report also highlighted the fact that customers combine online, mobile and in-store channels while purchasing clothing for a complete omni-channel experience.

“As of July 2016, global fashion online retailers like HM.com, Asos.com and Zara.com were most popular with global internet users,” the report observed.
