Canali ends collaboration with creative consultant Andrea Pompilio
After Ermenegildo Zegna, Berluti and Brioni, it is now the turn of another prestigious label specialised in menswear to part ways with its designer. Historic Italian fashion label Canali has announced in a press release "the end of the collaboration with creative consultant Andrea Pompilio."
The two parties ended their collaboration by mutual consent, at the planned term of the contract between the forty year-old designer and Canali. "After two years and four collections, both parties believe that the moment has come for each to start a new phase in their respective history," the fashion label stated in the release.
Canali's summer 2017 collection, which will show in June in Milan, will be created by an internal design team.
In March 2014, for the first time in its history, Canali entrusted the creation of its collections, until then designed internally, to an external creative consultant. The choice fell on Italian designer Andrea Pompilio, a menswear specialist.
After a first collaboration on a capsule collection, the designer, who launched his own menswear line in 2010, took charge of the entire Canali collection. Pompilio has added a contemporary feel to a line that until then was highly classical.
