Italian fashion labels have given a new vote of confidence to Carlo Capasa. The spirited President of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI, the Italian fashion chamber) has been re-elected and is again in charge of the Italian fashion labels' association, having been confirmed in his role as President and CEO.

Carlo Capasa took over from Mario Boselli in 2015. Alongside Capasa, the board of directors, consisting of 14 other members elected in spring 2014, has also been reappointed in its entirety. Their new mandate is for the years 2016-2018.

Since 1958 the CNMI has taken under its wing the leading Italian fashion brands. Like the institution, its board of directors brings together Italian style's major names, among them the bosses of Prada, Gucci and Valentino, Patrizio Bertelli, Marco Bizzarri and Stefano Sassi, as well as Angela Missoni, Renzo Rosso, Brunello Cucinelli and Ermenegildo Zegna.

"This has been a significant year. We notably managed to have Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi in Milan for the Fashion Week's opening. In general, we have repositioned Milan as one of the leading fashion capitals, by gaining new international media attention; Milan has undeniably become a cool city," commented Carlo Capasa during the conference which followed the CNMI's general meeting.

The President also expressed his satisfaction for having made Italian fashion manufacturing a benchmark in terms of sustainable development. Finally, he emphasised again the four vectors of the CNMI's strategy: sustainability, digitalisation, the relationship with public institutions and young creativity.
