Boohoo and Missguided ink deals for faster deliveries and returns

Fast growing e-tailers Boohoo and Misguided have announced logistics deals this week that will speed up deliveries and/or returns and make them more convenient for customers.

Boohoo

Boohoo said it is partnering with InPost UK so that customers will be able to collect their orders from a network of parcel lockers. It will mean next-day, round-the-clock parcel collection that avoids the problems of people not being at home or offices being closed when shoppers get parcels delivered to specific addresses.

InPost said research has shown that such options are particularly appealing to Millennial shoppers with its CEO Ian Caminsky saying this makes it especially relevant for Boohoo’s 16-24 year-old target shoppers.

Meanwhile Boohoo’s e-commerce director Andrew Thomson said the company's customers are very focused on speed and convenience and this new deal allows it to offer both.

Boohoo will be promoting the service to customers via an email, online and social media campaign.

By contrast, rival Misguided is focusing on parcel returns rather than deliveries. Given the high level of returns e-commerce involves, the easier those returns are, the more likely a shopper will be to buy from a specific e-store.

Missguided is linking with Sorted to use its SortedPro software to make returns in France, Spain, Poland and Germany easier and will later add the US and Australia to that list. That means the new deal will cover around 20% of its total returns.

The software will widen the number of returns partners it can use and will also give it much better tracking information and access to data. The company said the software has simplified how it manages returns and enhances the customer experience.
