Atelier Swarovski is adding a sunglasses line to its range. Swarovski's more creative, high-end line, notably focused on designer jewellery collaborations, has become the latest brand to line up with Italian eyewear manufacturer Marcolin.

Marcolin and the Austrian crystal specialist have in fact announced the signing of a design and distribution agreement for a range of high-end sunglasses, expected to launch in January 2018. The line will be manufactured in Italy, and will reference Swarovski's signature expertise in crystal ware, adding another string to Atelier Swarovski's bow.

The label was created in 2007 and is the brainchild of Nadja Swarovski, keen to experiment with more creativity and tech know-how. Atelier Swarovski features a main collection and a series of seasonal collaborations for accessories and jewellery, as well as home decoration, after the launch of the Home line in 2016.

It isn't the first time that Marcolin and Swarovski join forces: since 2009, the former is the licensee for the Austrian label's main, more accessible brand. Marcolin's portfolio includes a number of fashion labels such as Balenciaga, Tom Ford, Moncler, Diesel, Timberland and Emilio Pucci.
