Alexandre Vauthier brought an army of star models to the runway to present his autumn/winter 2016-2017 haute couture collection, successfully combining the glamorous sophistication of haute couture with military inspirations, using striking details.

The French fashion designer staged his latest haute couture show in Paris's Palais de Tokyo. In a fuss-free ambiance with no drastic decors or special effects, the show's models and their garments were more than enough to set the tone for this glamorous collection, dedicated to powerful, feisty, sensual and self-assured women.

British model Jourdan Dunn was picked to open the designer's military-inspired show, wearing a crop-legged jumpsuit and a coat in black and khaki shades, topped off with a large bow tied around the waist. This feminine ensemble was matched with lace-up heeled sandals rising just above the ankle.

The show continued on the same theme, borrowing plenty of details from the military world, including a color scheme of khaki green and brown, mesh fabrics totally revisited in high-glam looks, and occasional camouflage patterns.

Belts with eyelets were a recurring theme in the collection, seen cinching the waist of full maxi-dresses, mini-dresses and a voluminous fur coat. This star accessory was even crafted into dresses and skirts, and eyelets were used as details in the French designer's shoes and jewelry.

Sticking with feminine, sensual glamor, the collection included an array of tailored jackets and suit jackets, all cut to perfection. These came finished in the same wide mesh used in tops and pants, as well as sparkling glitter, patent leather, and with golden and shimmering details.

Bella Hadid -- who caused a sensation at this year's Cannes Film Festival in a seductively split red Alexandre Vauthier gown -- closed the show, taking to the runway in a semi-sheer, khaki-colored, camouflage-style strapless dress embroidered with sequins.
