Adidas introduces new NMD sneaker model

Published

It looks like a challenge. Proving that Adidas is a creative dynamo in the sneaker world. While the new editions of the Stan Smith and the Superstar were the commercial successes of the last few seasons, the three stripes' brand is regularly introducing fresh blood.

The Adidas Consortium NMD - Adidas

The strategy was initially evident with the launch of the ZX Flux, then with the Tubular's arrival last year.
For the end of 2015, Adidas is introducing a new sneaker, and has recently unveiled the NMD: a shoe inspired by running models, with an urban vibe. The NMD combines Boost technology for the sole with Primeknit for the upper.

To ensure continuity with its identity, the brand delved into its archives, notably borrowing key features from models like the Micro pacer, Rising Star and Boston Super.
"NMD is an entirely new concept, and not a revisitation of archive material or a revamping of iconic designs, the brand underlined in its press release. As all of the Adidas Originals designs do, the NMD refers back to the brand history's high points. But in the NMD these details have been entirely redefined, creating a wholly new style."

The Consortium version is dedicated to the brand's network of more directional independent retailers, priced at €180. In France, the model was presented at Starcow in Paris, and is available also at Colette and No.42. Shinzo too is featuring NMD in its Shinzo Lab. Internationally, it is available at Juice, in the Ukraine, and also at Sneakersnstuff, Footpatrol, Dover Street Market, United Arrows, Kith and Undefeated.

The NMD is also available at Adidas Originals stores, on the brand's website and at selected retailers, priced at €170.
